The Bird Center of Washtenaw County invites you to celebrate the holidays with us!
Location: Wild Birds Unlimited Ann Arbor – 2208 S. Main St., Ann Arbor
Date: Saturday, December 14 at 6:30pm
We will be celebrating 2019 and the holiday season with a fun night planned!
Throughout the evening you can check out our Bird Center merchandise we’ll have for sale, along with free informational handouts. Our Clinic Director Andrea will be there to answer questions about birds and the 2019 season.
Nature and Bird Photographer Jocelyn Anderson will be there selling her work, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Center!
Our ambassador blue jay Blue and our domestic peacock Gerald (that is temporarily staying with us) will be there for you to meet.
For a $10 donation, you can get your holiday photo taken with one of these beautiful birds. We will even be providing Christmas hats or reindeer antlers for the photo if you’d like, plus a themed backdrop!
*More special surprises will be at the event, but we don’t want to give it all away! You’ll have to come to the event to see for yourself!
- There is no entry fee!
- This event is family-friendly.
- Small side snacks will be available.
Check out our Facebook Event page for more info. We hope to see you there!
You’re invited to join the Bird Center for an evening of education! Come hear Maureen, Bird Center volunteer and Wild Birds Unlimited employee, and Andrea, Bird Center Clinic Director, discuss recent data on collisions, cat-caught cases, pesticides, and more.
Andrea will be discussing some of the cases that were seen at the Bird Center this year, and Maureen will be discussing how we can prevent these issues.
Please call Wild Birds Unlimited Ann Arbor to RSVP!
On Saturday, October 12th, our clinic manager Andrea will be hosting a Bird Center booth at Cranefest 2019! On Sunday, October 13th, our board member Bee and intern Dominick will be there. Please feel free to come by our booth! We can tell you about our season, our successes, and answer any questions you may have.
We often educate people about Sandhill Cranes, and we’ve done quite a few rescues. We have also been getting educational tips on them and other large waterfowl species from All Species Kinship (A.S.K.). Anything to help improve our rehabilitation skills on all flighted species is best for our Center!
A.S.K. will also be at the event, along with many other vendors and fun events! Please join us for a wonderful day of nature and wildlife. We hope to see you there!
